Hollowed Cordyceps
By gossamergypsy
Like a thanksgiving turkey waiting for the dissection from its host, so too does the girl wait for the corruption of her soul. Both bodies lie silently for the coming of the blade that releases the stuffing within.
Oh but wait, for more similarities unfold. Like the bird the girl has no native organs. They both have been gutted and in its place lies the substitution – this foul and putrid world. Filled almost ’til bursting, changed for the minions that await the feasting. Whether the husk contains corn or sawdust it still remains a husk. It is an empty shell of what once lived.
There is no beating heart. . . for clarity, there is no heart. An emptiness remains stretched with foreign objects.
It is better with a younger bird don’t you think?

Cordyceps are fascinating and creepy both. Much like this piece – well done.
