Wisdom Flowing

Wisdom Flowing is the second drawing I sketched on plywood. I am facinated by this material because of its ability to absorb the pigments of the color pencils. Layering colors seems to take on a richer saturation. Application is never hindered and I don’t have to worry about crinkling the edges, it’s plenty durable.
The concept for the drawing is simplistic – The wisdom/knowledge of the past is what sustains a community. It is our elders who uphold the cornerstone of identity. Lastly,”Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” from the philosopher George Santayana.
