Wisdom Flowing
By gossamergypsy on October 26th, 2008
Wisdom Flowing is the second drawing I sketched on plywood. I am facinated by this material because of its ability to absorb the pigments of the color pencils. Layering colors seems to take on a richer saturation. Application is never hindered and I don’t have to worry about crinkling the edges, it’s plenty durable.
Loaves & Fishes
By gossamergypsy on October 26th, 2008
I started this drawing as a demonstration piece for a client that I work with. The main purpose was to show how fine art materials (color pencils) can be used with scrap materials to form an interesting composition.
Hollowed Cordyceps
By gossamergypsy on July 29th, 2008
Like a thanksgiving turkey waiting for the dissection from its host, so too does the girl wait for the corruption of her soul. Both bodies lie silently for the coming of the blade that releases the stuffing within.
Tethered – Color Pencil Drawing
By gossamergypsy on July 12th, 2008
I believe that it is always important for an artist to work on process drawings. These drawings maybe inspiration later for another piece of artwork or may stand alone as dog-eared pages in a journal.
The Sweetness of Smells
By gossamergypsy on May 8th, 2008
The Sweetness of Smells was created as a mock-up for a book illustration. The picture references the idea of the movement of delicate tiny particles as well as the intense saturation of esters such as purfumes and essential oils.

By gossamergypsy on April 22nd, 2008
This was such an exciting project for me! I haven’t presented a doll since the beginning of my journey onto the web and here now is my latest accomplishment, a brand new art doll.

A child, your child, committing violence is heartbreaking. It is considered controversial and at times thought to be impossible by loved ones, but children are capable of devastating acts.

Snippets are. . .
By gossamergypsy on March 14th, 2008
Snippets are mini collages. I started this project as a way to get a simple concept solidified in visual art. The collages are personal ideas that meander around my mind and need an outlet to survive. They help to spotlight a moment in time and are symbolic “snapshots” of the way my thoughts take shape.
Armed w/ Kama Sutra – Snippets, Mini Collage
By gossamergypsy on March 14th, 2008
Third in the mini collage series, Kama Sutra was created as a decompresser. It is a light hearted piece that balances the emphasized text with a bit of illustration.
Scrapie – Snippets, Mini Collage
By gossamergypsy on March 14th, 2008
Scrapie is part six in a series of mini collages. The concept was inspired after reading The Family That Couldn’t Sleep, a book based on prions.
Fairy Godmother Strikes Again – Snippets, Mini Collage
By gossamergypsy on March 12th, 2008
This mini collage is the seventh in the series. I first chose the image of the “active” bunnies and used it as the ironic symbol of love. Love and Lust seems to be the windmill that young relationships do battle with.
